Time for a refresher on your Safe Zone Training? The materials have been updated and now include role playing and real-life situations. It is recommended that attendees take SafeZone Training every other academic year to stay up-to-date with the terminology, best practices, and policies change.
The UH Commission on LGBTQ+ Equality promotes a safe and inclusive environment by creating a culture of equality, acceptance, and respect throughout the University of Hawaiʻi System. UH West Oʻahu commissioners Frankie Pasion and Carmen Nolte-Odhiambo welcome you to attend Safe Zone Trainings on Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in D254 and Friday, Nov. 1, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. in D151. The Safe Zone Program’s objective is for trained participants to utilize their gained knowledge and skills to foster a safe and inclusive community for LGBTQ+ students, faculty, and staff to promote social justice in the University of Hawaiʻi System. Upon completion of a Safe Zone Training, participants will be invited to become Advocates in the University of Hawaiʻi System Safe Zone Program. All students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend.
