OVERVIEWClimate change effects are currently altering food systems globally and locally within Hawai‘i, impacting the resilience and sustainability of community food systems. The FE'E Summer Institute is aimed at addressing two key issues limiting the “peopling” of Climate-Smart Agriculture (C-SA) food production in Hawaiʻi: 1) Relevant college programs (i.e., sustainable agriculture, foods systems, conservation, Hawaiian studies, and/or environmental studies) are graduating committed, energized young people that are limited in real-world hands-on experiences in C-SA; 2) Climate-smart agricultural operations are growing at a pace that is faster than Hawaiʻi based colleges and education programs can supply people to the workforce. This is exacerbated for Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, and people of color communities in Hawai‘i. INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTIONInternship Positions.
