Unclassified Students

To provide standards of admissions for those unclassified students interested in programs of study at UH West Oʻahu.

Unclassified – individuals who wish to enroll in UH West Oʻahu courses, but do not seek to obtain a degree or certificate

Admission of Unclassified Students

1. Individuals who would like to enroll in courses from UH West Oʻahu, but do not wish to, or do not qualify to, enroll in a degree or certificate program may apply for admission as an unclassified, non-degree seeking student.
2. Applicants must submit an UH System online application found at apply.hawaii.edu together with documentation that verifies that prerequisites for courses they intend to register for, have been met.
3. International visa students are not eligible for unclassified, non-degree seeking status.
4. An unclassified, non-degree seeking students will not be allowed to become candidates for a certificate or degree program unless they meet admission requirements for classified status as noted above.

Authority to make determination and assessments that requirements are met delegated to Director of Enrollment Services or Director of Admissions.
