University of Hawai‘i–West O‘ahu students are encouraged to attend the No‘eau Center Open House to learn more about the free resources and services — such as peer tutors who can support them on their academic journey — available throughout the school year.
The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3, and Wednesday, Sept. 4, at the No‘eau Tutoring and Testing Center in B-203 on the second floor of the James & Abigail Campbell Library on campus.
“Most students don’t know about our streaming workshops, the fact that they can receive feedback on their written papers through our Online Draft Submission feature, or that we have an awesome Snack Shack filled with cheap eats,” said Wendy Takahashi, Student Services Specialist at No‘eau Center. “Open House allows UH West O‘ahu students to get to know their peer tutors and create relationships early on in the semester.”
At the event, which is sponsored by the UH West O‘ahu Student Activity Fee Board (SAFB), students will be able to:
- Enjoy free snacks and drinks
- Create their own bookmarks
- Take Polaroids with friends, then decorate the photos
- Play games to win prize packs equipped with essentials for the new school year
Those who cannot attend the in-person event can join in on Discord. Talk story, play Discord games, and win a prize pack, too! Go to bit.ly/noeaudiscord and search the center’s Student Hub, “No‘eau Center Hub.”
