University of Hawai‘i–West O‘ahu students who are looking for a job, internship, practicum, or other career-related experience can find a plethora of employment opportunities at a collaborative event featuring two career fairs — the UH West O‘ahu Career & Internship Fair and the Careers in IT and Cyber Fair — from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 5, on campus in C-208.

Event organizers encourage students to consider gaining valuable experience and applying their skills and knowledge at an internship or through part-time work because employers value candidates that have experience through internships or part-time work as they study.

“Whether you’re a freshman looking for part-time work or just gathering information about a company or an industry, or a senior looking for a practicum site or employment following graduation, it’s never too early to attend a career fair,” said Loea Akiona, Career Services Coordinator at UH West O‘ahu. “Build your network and find your next move at the UH West O‘ahu Career & Internship Fair!”

The other fair taking place is the Careers in IT and Cyber Fair, which is part of Hawaii Tech Days of Fall 2023, a series of events put on by the UH System, UH Community Colleges, and the Hawai‘i Chamber of Commerce. The series includes three career fairs, workshops, networking events, and panels.

The Careers in IT and Cyber Fair is geared toward students interested in a career in the following fields of study: Information Security and Assurance, Health Information Management, Information Technology, Business Administration/Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, and more.

The combined event features more than 30 businesses. Click here for a list of all participating employers, including a short description of the employer, types of opportunities (full-time, part-time, internship), areas, locations, and educational requirements.

“We plan on giving door prizes away throughout the event and will also have refreshments for attendees,” Akiona added.
