The University of Hawai‘i–West O‘ahu’s No‘eau Center presents a two-day event with essentials for students preparing for their upcoming finals — from professor-led study sessions to free sweet and savory snacks.

Cram Jam, sponsored by the Student Activity Fee Board, will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, and Thursday, April 27, on the second floor of A Building on campus.

“The purpose of Cram Jam is to provide students a nice night space to study before their finals,” said Michelle Zheng, a tutor consultant at the No‘eau Center.

Zheng said there will be one-on-one walk-in tutoring appointments, group study sessions with peer tutors, and a space where instructors could host study sessions with their students.

“This is an especially crucial time in a student’s journey, so the event will be hosted during the last week of instruction, before their finals,” she said.

Event organizers want to create spaces for students to study, especially with the temporary closure of the library building, as well as offer late hours for students so those who normally can’t attend tutoring sessions due to time conflicts can have an opportunity to meet with a tutor.

Students who attend at Cram Jam will be well fed and energized to study with free bento meals from Honolulu Kitchen; various chips and snacks; coffee, hot chocolate, and juice; and ice cream cups from Samurai’s.

Organizers will also be calling out raffles for prizes every hour throughout the event and hosting short “brain break” games for students.

“We’re hoping to create a fun, energetic, comfortable environment conducive to learning,” Zheng said.

Cram Jam will also be held via No‘eau Center’s virtual site at bit.ly/noeaucenter. For more information, email uhwowc@hawaii.edu. To pre-register, visit http://bit.ly/s23cramjamreg or scan the QR code below.
