The High School Band Directors National Hall of Fame recently inducted Chadwick Kamei, co-director of University of Hawaiʻi–West Oʻahu’s University Band and band director since 2006 at Pearl City High School.
“These awards are a testament to the support that we receive from our parents, community, Department of Education, School Administration and legislators in the great state of Hawaiʻi,” Kamei said. “I am honored and humbled to receive this amazing recognition from the greatest band director organization in our country.”
Kamei joins UH West Oʻahu’s University Band co-director and longtime music educator Michael Nakasone, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2013.
