If you have an abundance of ʻulu, or breadfruit, then here’s one idea for something delicious that you can make with it: ʻulu patties!

While there are many ways you can make breadfruit patties, you can try your hand at this version featured in the newest how-to video of the ʻĀina-to-ʻŌpū Workshop series, presented by the University of Hawaiʻi–West Oʻahu Student Organic Garden. The series features produce grown in the garden, or māla.

This take includes coconut provided in partnership with the Uluniu Project, the campus agroforestry/cultural landscaping project. Join Indrajit Gunasekara, Uluniu Project Coordinator and UH West Oʻahu Financial Aid Officer, and learn how he makes ʻulu patties. The recipe offered is a rough guide and allows cooks to make changes according to their flavor preferences and what is accessible.

Watch the “ ʻĀina-to-ʻŌpū Workshop: ʻUlu Patties” video on the “UHWO Garden” YouTube channel, where you can also find past workshop videos from the series. Follow @UHWOgarden on Instagram or subscribe to its YouTube channel to get details on upcoming workshops.
