Learn how to make tinctures — one way of preserving herbal harvests for later use — from ‘uhaloa, an indigenous medicinal herb.
The University of Hawai‘i–West O‘ahu Student Organic Garden presents ‘Āina-to-Kino Workshop: ‘Uhaloa Tinctures, an event for current UH West O‘ahu students, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, at Hale Kūahuokalā in the māla, or garden.
‘Uhaloa abundantly grows in the UH West O‘ahu māla and on the west/dry sides of the pae‘āina (islands). It is often used in tea blends to support respiratory health. At the make-and-take workshop, participants will learn more about the benefits of the indigenous herb, including how it can help support one’s well-being.
