University of Hawaiʻi–West Oʻahu students who are interested in looking for a job, internship, practicum, or other career-related experience are encouraged to attend the UH West Oʻahu Virtual Career & Internship Fair, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 7.
With the economy slowly regaining strength, opportunities are becoming more available once again. The Career & Internship Fair can help students connect with employers who are looking for great candidates to join their teams.
“Recruiters from 25 different businesses and organizations are recruiting students just like you,” said Loea Akiona, Career Services Coordinator at UH West Oʻahu. “Even if you are not looking for employment right now, the fair is the perfect place to build your network, practice your ‘elevator pitch,’ and get insight from recruiters on becoming a stronger candidate.”
Event organizers also noted that students who are a couple of years out from graduation should consider gaining valuable experience and applying their skills and knowledge at an internship or through part-time work, as employers value candidates who have experience through internships or part-time work as they study.

In addition, those attending the Career & Internship Fair can get ready for the event at a Prepare for the Fair virtual workshop on Thursday, Sept. 23, and Friday, Sept. 24.
The workshop will cover refreshing and targeting your resume, researching, and other tips and strategies that can be applied to many career development and recruitment opportunities. Students can choose from the following sessions:
- 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23
- 10:30 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Sept. 23
- 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23
- 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 24
- 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 24
