UH West Oʻahu students will present original research at the Spring 2020 Virtual Student Research and Creative Works Symposium, which will be held 1 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21 – and for the first time for the semesterly event, via Zoom.
“The Student Research and Creative Works Symposium has gone virtual and is expected to include students from several divisions across campus,” said Dr. Camonia Graham-Tutt, Assistant Professor of Community Health at UH West Oʻahu. “The subject matter will have content from philosophy, life sciences, education, public administration, and business.”
Students will present their work in oral and poster presentation formats.
The primary aim of the event is to provide an opportunity for practice-based education through presentations on a variety of research topics, including research methods, education, and sociology, said Graham-Tutt, who works with faculty each semester to organize the event.

Ultimately, the symposium’s goal is to increase the number of undergraduate UH West Oʻahu students with research presentation experience while demonstrating diversity in the field of research, Graham-Tutt said.
