Enjoy fun activities, freebies, and an opportunity to get some well-deserved rest and relaxation at the No‘eau Center’s aptly named event, West & Welaxation.
The popular semesterly event will be from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, and Thursday, March 13, at the No‘eau Center, in room B-203 on the second floor of the James & Abigail Campbell Library at the University of Hawai‘i–West O‘ahu.
Among the activities:
- Free smoothies from Da Spot (while supplies last).
- Chill Jenga and Mindfulness Bingo — a fun twist on classic games to help you de-stress!
- “Welaxation” Room — featuring a galaxy projector and soothing sounds to help you unwind.
- Brain Dump Station — put your thoughts on paper and clear your mind.
- Affirmation Card Creation — because who doesn’t need a little extra positivity?
“A couple students high-fived each other when they found out that we’ll be handing out free smoothies from Da Spot,” said Wendy Takahashi, Student Services Specialist at No‘eau Center. “It made me happy to see the huge smile on their faces and I want all students to come to our event to feel the same way!”
In addition, students who attend will be automatically entered to win a 5-minute gratitude journal; a winner will be announced at noon, 1 p.m., and 2 p.m. each day. Event organizers will also give away exclusive enamel pins, perfect for backpacks or tote bags.
“We tried to think outside of the box for this event,” Takahashi added. “We thought turning our conference room into a ‘relaxation room’ and having a ‘brain dump’ station would be a fun way to support students as they break away from their day-to-day workload. We hope students enjoy it!”
Students who can’t make it to the event in person can join in on Discord to be part of the fun. Visit bit.ly/noeaudiscord, then search “No‘eau Center Hub.”
