The Fall 2024 Student Research and Creative Works Symposium — University of Hawai‘i–West O‘ahu’s popular semesterly event that aims to increase the number of its undergraduate students with engaged scholarship and research experience — will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20, in C-208, and starting at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, via Zoom.
The campus-wide, student-focused event — the 16th symposium since its inaugural event in 2016 — provides an opportunity for dynamic student research learning experiences to be showcased on a variety of topics, said Dr. Camonia Graham-Tutt, symposium director.
“This semester, participants and attendees will see the return of students presenting creative works through the UH West O‘ahu Sustainability Pitch and Present Student Competition,” Graham-Tutt noted. “Students presenting through the contest will be proposing sustainability ideas to potentially implement at UH West O‘ahu.”
Graham-Tutt continued, “This type of creative work is important to the Student Research and Creative Works Symposium as it presents yet another opportunity for students to present real time scholarship and solutions for improving our campus community. In addition, all students at the symposium gain skillful practice in giving presentations.”
