University of Hawai‘i–West O‘ahu students can take the next step toward a brighter future at two career fairs happening on campus — the Careers in IT and Cyber Fair on Wednesday, Feb. 21, and the UH West O‘ahu Career and Internship Fair on Thursday, Feb. 22.

Whether students are seeking internships, planning for their first job, or exploring career options for the future, the insights and connections gained at the events can significantly impact students’ career development, organizers said.

“The two fairs promise to be valuable experiences for students at all stages of their educational journey,” said Dr. Loea Akiona, Director of Student Development and Career Development at UH West O‘ahu.

The following are details, including registration and participating employers links, for each fair:

  • The Careers in IT and Cyber Fair will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 21, in C-208. Register here. Click here for a list of participating employers. This fair is part of the Hawai‘i Tech Days series of events, which are aimed at preparing and connecting Hawai‘i’s young people to Information Technology careers in local companies. Organizers have curated a specialized event tailored to students interested in IT and cybersecurity careers. Connect directly with industry leaders, learn about the latest trends, and explore internship and job opportunities in these rapidly evolving fields — whether you’re an Information Security Assurance major or simply curious about tech-related opportunities. This event is open for all learners interested in the industry, not only for UH West Oʻahu students.
  • The UH West O‘ahu Career and Internship Fair will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22, in C-208. Register here. Click here for a list of participating employers. This fair offers a broader spectrum of opportunities. Employers from various industries and fields will be present, offering positions ranging from part-time and full-time jobs to internships, practicums, and volunteer opportunities. No matter your major or academic level, this day is your chance to explore diverse career paths, network with professionals, and gain insights into the industries you’re passionate about.

Fair organizers share the following benefits to encourage students to attend:

  • Discover networking opportunities. Connect with professionals, recruiters, and even alumni who can provide valuable insights and guidance on your chosen career path.
  • Explore career options. Discover a wide range of career possibilities within your field of study or areas you may not have considered before.
  • Build confidence. Practice and enhance your networking and communication skills in a supportive environment, boosting your confidence for future job interviews and interactions.
  • Access hidden opportunities. Some job opportunities may not be advertised online. Attend the fair to access exclusive opportunities that may only be available to attendees.
