University of Hawai‘i–West O‘ahu students are encouraged to serve, lead, and make a difference in student government!

The Associated Students of the University of Hawai‘i–West O‘ahu (ASUHWO) Senate announced that General Elections applications are now being accepted for students interested in serving on the 12th Senate for next academic year, 2023 to 2024. The deadline to submit an application is Monday, April 3, by 6 p.m.

ASUHWO is seeking everyday students who are interested in making a difference at the university, wanting to develop transferable leadership skills for the workforce, and working to advocate to campus administration and community leaders in addressing student concerns. The student voice is important in all university affairs.

Elections calendar timeline:

  • Deadline to submit application: Monday, April 3, by 6 p.m.
  • Mandatory candidate orientation sessions: Tuesday, April 4, through Thursday, April 6
  • Public listing of candidates: Monday, April 10
  • Campaigning: Monday, April 10, through Friday, April 21
  • Online elections: Monday, April 24, through Friday, April 28
  • Unofficial results published: Monday, May 1
  • Elections’ results ratification at senate meeting: Monday, May 8
