Dr. Bonnie Bittman is the Assistant Professor of Secondary Social Studies Education at the University of Hawai'i- West Oahu. She has 10 years teaching secondary social studies at the high school level: including economics, civics, Advanced Placement U.S. Government and Politics, world history, ethics, and more. During her time at the University of Central Florida, she oversaw secondary student teacher's internships at the undergraduate and graduate level, as well as teaching a variety of social science education classes.

Dr. Bittman’s area of expertise focuses on civic education and the achievement of marginalized populations in social studies education. Her research utilizes quantitative methods, comprising mostly of regression analysis.
