General Policies for Use of UHWO Courtyard and Central Plaza

  • With advanced approval and at the discretion of UHWO FSE/ PCO/Security, vehicles may be allowed limited access to the Courtyard (CY) and Central Plaza (CP) for ACTIVE loading and unloading. A fire lane clearance of 24 feet wide must be maintained at all times. Vehicles include but are not limited to: Trucks, cars, trailers, towable generators, towable light towers, ATVs, or any vehicle with wheels whether motorized or not.
  • User must submit proposed layout stating detailed use of the requested areas (i.e. equipment, number of people, UHWO resources, etc.) a minimum of 30 days prior to the requested event date.
  • Layout and availability of UHWO resources must be approved by UHWO Food Services/Events (FSE) and Planning and Campus Operations (PCO).
  • UHWO FSE and PCO must inspect and approve equipment and proposed location of equipment i.e. staging (plywood is required for all staging), tents, etc. prior to the authorization of the use of CY or CP.
  • UHWO Facilities Department must locate and flag all sprinkler lines prior to set up of approved equipment on the CY or CP.
  • Any approved equipment must be properly secured i.e. stakes, sandbags, cement blocks, etc. (Water barrels are NOT allowed).
  • Prior to securing/staking equipment on the CY or CP, a representative from UHWO FSE/PCO must accompany the responsible parties (i.e. User and Vendor) to visually inspect and approve the final installation. All sprinkler lines must be avoided.
  • User is responsible for securing equipment at all times.
  • No equipment shall remain on CY or CP for more than a 12-hour period, without advanced approval by UHWO FSE/PCO.
