Meet Your Pueo Leaders
The PUEO (Peer Undergraduate Engagement and Orientation) Leadership Program is a peer mentor program dedicated to helping new students adjust to the social, personal, and academic aspects of college life. New students are connected with a support group of fellow students as well as PUEO Leaders: experienced, positive, and helpful current UH West Oʻahu students who offer attention and guidance.

What is your major?
Business Administration | Marketing
What are your career plans?
Because the marketing profession is very flexible, I plan to work in an industry I'd be very interested in. Such industries would revolve around my passions; fitness, mixed martial arts, and maybe even aviation!
What is one thing you would like to highlight about UHWO?
UHWO has one of the most supportive groups you are ever going to have on a UH campus. Engaging in such groups has helped me become a better leader, community advocate, and student in the classroom.

If I could have any superpower, it would be to speak any language so I could connect with anyone in the world.

What is your major?
Creative Media | General Creative Media
What are your career plans?
After graduating in the Fall of 2023, I'll work on trying to get myself into the pre-production/filmmaking industry. Hopefully from there I can become a Creative Director.
What is one thing you would like to highlight about UHWO?
The environment is very calming to me, as weird as that sounds. Whenever I'm on campus in the classroom or even just sitting outside, I have a sense of motivation and eagerness to keep learning and striving for my future goals.

I really enjoy using my creative talents to help people. I know that I have skills and capabilities that others want and in turn I want to be helpful and useful for people.

What is your major?
Elementary Education | SPED
What are your career plans?
My career plans are to become an elementary teacher after getting my Bachelor's degree. I want to give back to my community and teach on the west side at my old elementary, Nanaikapono Elementary school.
What is one thing you would like to highlight about UHWO?
The people here are very welcoming, especially the staff. They greet you with a smile and just have all around good vibes.
A fun fact about yourself
Fun fact: I'm kind of a germaphobe so one of my pet peeves is wet grass or inflatable swimming pools. Specifically when children swim in inflatable swimming pools on grass and go in and out of the pool tracking in the grass and dirt.

What is your major?
Creative Media | General Creative Media
What are your career plans?
I want to graduate with my Bachelor's in General Creative Media. I want to get into video editing and become a video editor.
What is one thing you would like to highlight about UHWO?
UHWO's community is small but it's a community that you can call your 2nd home.
A fun fact about yourself
I play a lot of video games, anything from current FPS games like Apex or Valorant, to a lot of switch games. I love doing karaoke with others!

What is your major?
Applied Science | Hawaiian & Indigenous Health and Healing
What are your career plans?
My career plans are to become a member of Teach for America. I plan to teach Hawaiian Studies for either elementary or intermediate students.
What is one thing you would like to highlight about UHWO?
One of the things that I would like to highlight about UHWO is how there are different clubs that students can become a part of. Another thing that I would like to highlight about UHWO is how it is a loving/welcoming community.

Fun fact about myself is that I was part of the Macy’s 90th Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2016.

What are your career plans?
As for my career plans, I plan to continue my bachelor’s degree in middle school education and humanities. After college, I would like to work towards my master’s degree while working as a middle school language arts teacher.
What is one thing you would like to highlight about UHWO?
I would like to highlight that UHWO houses a friendly and welcoming community. Everyone wants you to feel included and safe here 🙂

What are your career plans?
I plan to work as a school counselor either for elementary or high school. I would like to work in a Hawaii public school that I had attended in the past.
What is one thing you would like to highlight about UHWO?
One thing I would like to highlight about UHWO is that the food from the cafeteria is very delicious! My favorite thing to get is the hamburger combo!

What are your career plans?
Although things can definitely change, I surely see myself continuing to comfort, communicate, and support kids. At the moment becoming a child life specialist or a school counselor are of my interest.

UHWO has a community that radiates positive and encouraging vibes. Whether you're online or on campus you always feel welcomed and are challenged to do your best.

Jerry from Tom & Jerry is my spirit animal. At first sight, we both seem quiet and under 5ft, but we're really mischievous, determined, and sarcastic.

What are your career plans?
I am still unsure about my career plans, but I know it will have something to do with money and numbers. Right now I am looking into accounting or auditing and possibly real estate as a side hustle.
What is one thing you would like to highlight about UHWO?
One highlight about UHWO is our community! Our campus is on the smaller side, but it gives us much more opportunity to really get to know everyone on campus.
