Distance Learning Tip of the Week – Export a section of a Camtasia project as a micro lesson or promo (Pro Tip)

Camtasia users can reuse longer lecture videos by pulling out standalone sections for future use. These micro lessons are saved as MP4s for easy sharing. 

Open an existing Camtasia project (.tscproj file) in the editor and use the playhead handle to select a section on the timeline. You can finetune your selection by using the period key to go forward, and the comma to go back, frame by frame. In the blue selected area, right-click to reveal the dropdown menu and choose ‘produce timeline selection as.’ From the custom production settings, select MP4 (up to 1080p). Click next until prompted to name your mini project. Click next again to render the MP4. You’ll find the new video in your Camtasia folder, while your original video remains intact.
