EUTF Periodic Update

A message from the Hawaiʻi Employer-Union Health Benefits Trust Fund (EUTF) — via UH West Oʻahu Human Resources — for EUTF-eligible employees in an email dated Jan. 28:

EUTF Periodic Update

EUTF Open Enrollment Coming May 2025

EUTF Open Enrollment for employees will be held May 1-30, 2025. OE is the time for you to review whether the health coverage you have for yourself and your family continues to best meet your needs.

Detailed information and the 2025 EUTF Active Reference Guide will be distributed to all employees via your employer in April 2025.

In anticipation of OE, employees can access the EUTF Member Portal at eutfbenefits.hawaii.gov to confirm their current coverage and premiums, enrolled dependent(s), etc.

Dependent Children Ages 19-25 Eligibility Update

Dependent children ages 19-25 are now eligible to enroll in EUTF active dental and vision coverage through age 25, regardless of student or marital status, and they do not need to live with the employee.

Open Enrollment is your opportunity to re-enroll your child if they were previously removed.

The EUTF will no longer require annual certification of full-time student status.

Closure of the HMSA HMO Medical Plan

HMSA HMO will be closed to new subscribers effective July 1, 2025.

Employees currently enrolled in HMSA HMO may continue their coverage and can make qualified changes to their enrollment by accessing the Member Portal at eutfbenefits.hawaii.gov.

An employee who cancels/waives their HMSA HMO may not re-enroll into HMSA HMO.

A memo with detailed information will be mailed to all HMSA HMO subscribers in April 2025.
