Emerging leaders program applications due Feb. 12
A message from UH President David Lassner in an email dated Jan. 17:
The President’s Emerging Leaders Program (PELP) is now accepting applications for our 2024-2025 cohort. PELP is a professional development opportunity for highly motivated faculty and staff of the University of Hawaiʻi. The program affirms our intent to invest in our faculty and staff, while also creating an institutional culture that honors diversity and inclusion.
The program aims to assist participants in establishing a base of knowledge about higher education and the UH System, and in addition, offers potential leaders a chance to reflect upon their leadership potential and how they might make a difference in our campuses and system. A variety of methods, including discussions, lectures, case studies, simulations, and hands-on exercises may be used to develop leadership skills and strategies for making a difference on our campuses and across the system.
All faculty and staff members are invited to apply. We are seeking individuals who exhibit the attitude and capacity for effective leadership within our institution. We particularly invite applications from women, Native Hawaiians, and others underrepresented in UH leadership.
Applications for the program along with a letter of support must be received by Monday, Feb. 12, 2024, at noon. The 2024-2025 program will begin on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2024.
For more information, including the tentative schedule and the application, see the PELP website.
I hope many of you will take advantage of this opportunity to develop your talents and make a strong contribution to the future of our university and our state.
With best wishes and aloha,
David Lassner
President, University of Hawaiʻi System
