Belly dancing classes start Feb. 21
Ready to shimmy? Students are welcome to belly dancing classes from 2 to 3 p.m. on Tuesdays — Feb. 21 and 28; March 7, 21, and 28; and April 4 — in the Nāulu Center’s Hoʻonanea Room, C132.
What we know collectively as “belly dance” actually fuses and includes a wide range of cultural dances with roots in the Middle East, North Africa, Turkey, and Greece!
In this introductory class, Sammie (pictured below) will get you up to speed with the foundational movements of belly dance in the American Cabaret style. This class will involve plenty of movement, drills, and combinations.
Students should wear comfy clothing that they can move freely in, and bring a water bottle. Hip scarves are also permitted/encouraged.
