‘Ah Quon McElrath: The Struggle Never Ends!’ premieres on PBS Hawaiʻi, Oct. 17

The Center for Labor Education & Research (CLEAR), University of Hawaiʻi–West Oʻahu, will premiere its one-hour television documentary, “Ah Quon McElrath: The Struggle Never Ends!” on PBS Hawaiʻi, Thursday, Oct. 17, at 8:30 p.m. on “PBS Hawaiʻi Presents,” and repeats, Sunday, Oct. 20, at 1 p.m. Live stream at pbshawaii.org. Born in poverty and raised in one of Honolulu’s poorest neighborhoods, Ah Quon McElrath became a dynamic force for change in the Hawaiian Islands. She dedicated herself to transforming the economic structure in Hawaiʻi and to elevating the quality of life for thousands of working class people. She firmly believed that a fair economic system could create a world where equality, justice, and peace prevailed. Ah Quon McElrath had an unshakeable faith in the power of people working together. Her passion, her wisdom, her words remain an inspiration to us all.
