Free tickets to the Dec. 1 Hawaiʻi Symphony Orchestra’s ‘The Bach Project with Yo-Yo Ma’
In August 2018, Yo-Yo Ma began a two-year journey to perform Johann Sebastian Bach’s six suites for solo cello in 36 locations around the world, music that is among the first Yo-Yo Ma ever learned when he began playing the cello at age four.
This Thursday, Dec. 1, concert at the Waikiki Shell runs from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. and is the 36th and final concert in the project, and Yo-Yo Ma will be joined by artists in our Hawaiʻi community. The project is motivated not only by his six-decade relationship with the music, but also by Bach’s ability to speak to our shared humanity at a time when our civic conversation is so often focused on division.
Gov. Ben Cayetano and First Lady, Hawaiʻi Symphony Board Vice-Chair Vicky Cayetano have donated 20 tickets to UH West Oʻahu students, on behalf of the Hawaiʻi Symphony. The distribution is first-come, first-served, so request your free tickets ASAP!
