Welcome new Human Resources Director, Celia Remillard

A message from UH West Oʻahu Vice Chancellor for Administration David McDonald in an email dated June 7:

Aloha UH West Oʻahu ʻohana,

Please welcome our new Human Resources Director, Celia Remillard, who joins our UH West ʻohana on Tuesday, June 20. Celia will be responsible for advancing effective strategies to lead, strengthen, and develop best practices to coordinate and manage the Office of Human Resources, as well as to ensure legal compliance (i.e., EEO/AA). Additionally, the director will work to support the UH West Oʻahu and UH System Strategic Plans and Imperatives.

The position also provides leadership in the development and implementation of training that supports continued professional development; work to ensure continued compliance with university, state, and federal laws and regulations including all Collective Bargaining Agreements; and employee health and well-being activities.

Celia most recently served as the Human Resources Director at the Hawai’i Health & Harm Reduction Center (Honolulu), and the Human Resources Program Manager for Pūlama Lānaʻi (Lānaʻi City). She brings 12 years of experience working in the University of Illinois System as HR Coordinator and EEO Investigator, and 10 years of human resource experience with medical institutions, city/township, and the Air National Guard. She earned her B.A. in English & Communications at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.
