Legislative update: Senate budget does not include UH priorities
Kalbert Young, UH vice president for budget and finance and chief financial officer, provides an update of the legislative session as it heads into its final weeks before the scheduled May 4 adjournment. UH is tracking a number of legislative measures — most notably, the budget.
The state Senate approved its version of the state budget on April 11, and only partially restored funds to UH to current operating levels for the first year of the biennium. By contrast, the budget passed by the House of Representatives earlier in the session fully restored funding.
