Ka Puke Mele ʻO Eddie Kamae: He Huakaʻi Mele

Aloha kākou! Join us on Tuesday, December 2 from 3:00 to 4:00 pm on Zoom to explore the new Hawaiian language version of the Eddie Kamae songbook: an in-depth, free digital resource at www.eddiekamaesongbook.org.
The event is sponsored by ʻUluʻulu: The Henry Kuʻualoha Giugni Moving Image Archive and the James & Abigail Campbell Library at the University of Hawaiʻi West Oʻahu.
The hour-long session will include:
- background on the work of Eddie and Myrna Kamae to collect and preserve ʻike Hawaiʻi with Myrna Kamae
- an introduction to the digital resources from the Kamae Archives at ʻUluʻulu •
- documentary footage about the song “Heha Waipiʻo” from Liʻa: Legacy of a Hawaiian Man
- a tour of the Eddie Kamae songbook website
- examples of how the songbook’s resources have been used in classes by UHWO faculty
