Learn how to weave beautiful anthuriums out of coconut leaves at the University of Hawai‘i–West O‘ahu Student Organic Garden event, ‘Āina-to-Kino Workshop: Lau Niu Anthuriums, from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, in Hale Kūahuokalā at the garden (māla).
The fun, hands-on weaving workshop features instructor Jamie Abrazado. The coconut leaf anthuriums can be used as decorations or even as hat or hair picks.
The workshop will be held after the garden’s last community workday of the semester. (Click here for details about the community workday.) Workshop participants are encouraged to attend both — 8 to 11 a.m. māla workday, followed by a potluck lunch, then 1 to 3 p.m. weaving workshop.
