Engage with other students, learn about campus resources, and enjoy a boba station, pork hash, games, prizes, and much more — all at Pueo Pilina, a celebration of University of Hawai‘i–West O‘ahu students from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, at the Campus Courtyard.

The popular semesterly event is funded, planned, and hosted by the UH West O‘ahu Chartered Student Organizations (CSOs) Associated Students of the University of Hawai‘i–West O‘ahu (ASUHWO)Campus Center BoardStudent Activity Fee Board (SAFB), and Student Media Board.

“The purpose of Pueo Pilina is to celebrate students and strengthen the community on campus,” said  Olivia “Liv” Chung, Student Life Event Coordinator and Student Supervisor with SAFB. “Through entertainment, food and drinks, activities, prizes, and more, we hope that students can create and foster meaningful connections with one another.”

Event highlights include limited edition signature shirts designed by the planning team of student leaders; a SAMA SAMA live boba station; Spam musubi, lumpia, pork hash, and treats from Valerio’s; and prizes (for both in person and Distance Education students) such as Aloha Collection and Owala items.

Attendees can also explore various student organizations and departments, discover ways to connect and get involved on campus, and relax at craft stations.

Additionally, event organizers are reaching out to the campus community for the following:

  • Showcase your student organization, department, or small business. Sign up here to be a participating booth; deadline is Friday, Feb. 20, by 11:59 p.m.
  • Help out in various aspects of the event to bring it to life — from setting up to staffing check-in tables, activities stations, and food stations. Sign up here to volunteer; deadline is Monday, Feb. 23, by 11:59 p.m.
  • If you’re a singer, musician, dancer, poet or other performer, come share your talents with the campus! Sign up here to perform at the event.

“We encourage students to attend Pueo Pilina to improve their sense of community on campus — to meet and connect with fellow students and student leaders!” Chung said.
