Take part in a book swap or make a flag to display at a Queer Event, presented by the University of Hawai‘i–West O‘ahu Student Activity Fee Board from 1 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, and Thursday, Oct. 10, in the lobby of the James & Abigail Campbell Library — in honor of National Coming Out Day, which is celebrated every year on Oct. 11.

Stop by on Oct. 9 for button-/pin-making and on Oct. 10 for flag-making. Flags made will be laminated and hung in the library lobby.

Both days also feature a book swap and giveaway. Bring a queer-themed book and get a book in return. Organizers will be handing out queer-themed books throughout the hour, so bring your own to trade; these books can be any genre, but must include queer themes.

The event is while supplies last and you must be a UH West O‘ahu student to attend. Please bring a validated student ID for check-in at the event.

For more information or any questions email safbwo@hawaii.edu and follow @safbwo and @uhwostudentlife on Instagram for updates and reminders for future events.
