If you are concerned about Hawaiʻi’s food system and want to be part of making change happen, then consider attending the Hawaiʻi Food Policy Landscape Update, a virtual event from noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 13.

“The Food Policy Landscape Update is an annual event organized to inform community members about key food and agriculture policies coming up this 2022 legislative session on topics like food hubs, farm-to-school, healthy soils, nutrition, institutional purchasing and many others,” said Dr. Albie Miles, Assistant Professor with the University of Hawaiʻi–West Oʻahu Sustainable Community Food Systems Program, which is a co-sponsor of the event.

Event presenters will also review why attendees should engage with the legislative session, and clearly explain how they can best prepare to participate as well-informed citizens and make their voices heard. (See the full agenda below.)

Co-sponsors of the event, now in its second year, include the Hawaiʻi Food+ Policy Internship, Hawaiʻi Alliance for Progressive Action, Hawaiʻi Public Health Institute, and other community partners
