In its fifth year, the UH West Oʻahu Governmental Internship Program seeks to provide dynamic, capable, and ambitious UH West Oʻahu students with a rare opportunity to work in the Governor’s office, or the office a senator or representative at the Hawai‘i State Legislature during the 2020 legislative session, January – May 2020.
Interns will be involved in an experiential learning process which provides insight into elective politics, and the opportunity to observe first-hand the dynamics of legislative decision-making. Interns will work an average of 40 hours per week while earning academic credits to maintain full-time status. Interns will get paid for work and receive the full cost of spring 2018 tuition while earning 12 academic credits. The Hawaiʻi State Legislative Internship Program is open to UH West Oʻahu students only.
An informational event will be held to provide details about the program and answer any questions that students may have. The event is scheduled from noon to 1 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 19, at the ʻUluʻulu Archive Exhibition Space. The panelists include:
