Update COVID-19

As our numbers increase due to growing holiday gathering and travel, we ask that you be vigilant and keep yourself and your ʻohana safe, healthy and joyful! Vaccines are just around the corner! Should you have any questions or concerns about UH West Oʻahu procedures please go to westoahu.hawaii.edu/covid-19/. Please stay in-touch with the COVID Response Team should you be exposed, are awaiting test results, and/or are under the care of your PHP. Mahalo nui – UHWO COVID-19 Response Team.

Aloha mai kākou!

An important growth opportunity for UH West Oʻahu is focused on enrollment. So, recruitment of freshman (traditional high school graduates, returning adults (folks that have stopped out or are non-traditional students), and transfer students. Knowing how we can better serve students is essential to our growth. So, a huge HŪLO!!! and Mahalo Nūnui!!! to our UH West Oʻahu Institutional Research Office (John Stanley and Christi Palacat) for all they do to provide us with up-to-date data.  Take a look at the newly refreshed ‘Student Success Dashboard‘. The dashboard presents key student success measures, i.e., retention/graduation rates, WSCUC outcomes, etc. John Stanley states, “While there is always room for continuous improvement, this latest update shows comparatively strong outcome measures across the board. Also, most of the data on the UH West Oahu ‘Factbook‘ has been updated with Fall 2020 figures.” Mahalo hou John and Christi!

I also include in this bulletin the bullet points from my presentation to the Faculty Senate made on Friday December 4, 2020.

E mālama pono!
